Fresher reception of Dhaka University criminology and criminal justice department and farewell of its first batch held at DU Mozaffar Ahmed auditorium on Friday. Chairman of association of private university Bangladesh Seikh Kabir Hossain adressed there as the chief guest while prof Dr Shah Nowaz Ali, member of University grand commission, dean of DU social science faculty Dr Sadeka Halim were present at the programme chaired by prof Ziaur Rahan ,chairman of DU criminology department.
Chairman of association of private university Bangladesh Seikh Kabir Hossain urged to parents to be vigilant saying if family teach their children proper values and ideals they won’t be criminal anyway. ‘‘we should be aware before a crime took place, it’s not good to suppress criminal rather taking no steps to prevent them after crime and motivated them in a good way,’’ he stated.
Prof Dr. M. Shah Nowaz Ali said, ‘‘we are driving into a more complex society, various types of crime today ripe with our prosperous, may be we won’t able to suppress crime fully but studies of criminology need to understand notion of crime to resist them,’’ Chairman of DU criminology dept said, ‘‘we have been serving lot to prevent crimes from society, our department is well combination of professionalism and academic both, farewell dose not mean cutting ties from us, i hope you will be connected with the department and serve the nation what we taught you,’’ He also congratulate fresher’s od 6th batch of criminology department. About one Hundred students were took place at the programme.
