Cumilla Sadar Dakkhin Upazila Administration arranged a reception for freedom fighters on Sunday to observe the Victory Day.
Some 108 freedom fighters (FFs) of Cumilla Sadar Dakkhin Upazila received gifts in the event.
Golum Sarwar, Upazila Chairman, Rubaiya Khanom, UNO, Md Abdur Rahman, Assistant Commissioner (land), Abdul Hai Bablu, Upazila Vice-chairman, freedom fighter Alahj Mohammad Tajul Islam and Md Alamgir Hossain Bhuiya, OC, Sadar Model Thana, spoke in the programme.
The FFs recalled their memories of 1971 in the reception.
They said that, they participated in the liberation war following the call by father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, and now they are living in an Independent country and they feel proud as a citizen of such a nation.
