Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) raided at the residence of Regent Hospital's owner Md Shahed Karim on Saturday night.
Talking to the reporters, Kazi Shafiul Alam, deputy commissioner of DB (Uttara Division), confirmed it on Sunday.
He said, “We seized five bottles of foreign alcohol, 10 bottles of Phensedyl, a pistol and one round of bullet from his car during the drive.”
We filed two separate cases with the Uttara (West) police station against him after the raid, he added.
Earlier on Thursday, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) lodged another case against him in connection with his involvement in fake currencies racket. A day before, another case was filed against him on charge of keeping illegal weapon.
The elite force RAB arrested Shahed from Satkhira border area on early Wednesday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Sujoy Sarkar, who is also the Deputy Director of the RAB’s Legal and Media Wing said a foreign pistol, three rounds of bullet and a magazine were also recovered from his possession.
Immediately after his arrest, a RAB helicopter brought him in the capital Dhaka and handed him over to DB police.
All the cases against him are being investigated by DB.
