Four persons were killed and sever others injured when an under-construction gate of Shahid M Monsur Ali Degree College at Gulta of Tarash Upazila under Sirajganj district collapsed around 3-00 pm on Tuesday. Police and local people rushed to the spot and admitted the injured persons to local hospital. \
Dead persons were identified as Tojam Ali(50) son of Rasul Ullah of Gulta village, Rashedul Islam(30)son of Sultan, Atique Hossain(22) son of Shahadat Hossain of the same village and another unidentified person . Upazila Chairman of Tarash and the UNO have visited spot.
According to sources, today being a weekly market( hat) day, a large number of people were present at the spot and many of them were standing under the under construction gate of the college when around 3-00 pm, the top part of the gate suddenly collapsed killing four persons on the spot and injuring seven more. Local people complained, the cause of collapse of under construction gate was due to use of low quality, insufficient construction materials.
