A Kishoreganj court on Tuesday sentenced four person to life term on charges of kidnaping and raping a minor girl on May 11, 2015. Kiron Shankor Halder, Judge of Nari O Shishu Nirjaton Daman Tribunals, announced the verdict.
The convicts are Sumon, 24, son of Shahid Mia, Faruq, 16, son of Kantu Mia, Rumon, 22, son of Kashem and Helal, 28, son of Sona Mia. All are resident of Asutiapara village under Karimganj Municipality of the district.
When the case was filed, Karimganj Police arrested the accused and they confessed to the magistrate. Police filed charge sheet against them. The case was conducted by MA Afzal, Special PP on behalf of the state while Advocate Mohiuddin Ahammed on behalf of the accused.
