Four Bangladeshis, including renowned film critic and screenwriter Sadia Khalid Reeti, have been chosen to join the voting panel for the prestigious 82nd edition of the Golden Globe Awards. The panel, comprised of 337 voters from 84 countries, will play a crucial role in selecting the final nominees and winners for the coveted awards.
Sadia Khalid Reeti, a veteran in journalism and currently serving as the cultural editor of Dhaka Tribune, marks her third time on the voting panel. With a wealth of experience, including serving on the Fipresci Jury at the Cannes Film Festival, her expertise adds significant value to the panel's deliberations.
Ador Rahman, a respected journalist and content officer at Charki, joins the panel for the second time, bringing with her extensive experience from her tenure at Prothom Alo and as the first Bangladeshi woman journalist to cover the Cannes Film Festival.
Also making their debut on the panel are journalists Johny Hoque and Manzurul Alam. Johny Hoque, known for his two decades in journalism and as the first Bangladeshi entertainment journalist to cover the Cannes Film Festival, brings a unique perspective to the table. Alongside him, Manzurul Alam, with eight years of experience as an entertainment journalist and currently a correspondent at Daily Prothom Alo's Culture and Entertainment Department, adds depth to the panel's insights.
Their collective expertise and diverse backgrounds promise to enrich the selection process for the Golden Globe Awards, which is scheduled to take place on January 5, 2025.
