The businesses of Bangladesh have suffered a critical blow following the undeclared lockdown and transportation ban because of the coronavirus outbreak. The inability to get materials because of the supply chain being brought to a halt has caused many businessmen to falter because if this continues many of them would suffer irreparable losses.

However, unless the factories are turned back on the economy would suffer. Hence, it can be said that the situation regarding the economy is quite critical all over the world.

The prime minister has announced that in the Ramadan a few selected factories would be allowed to start work based on areas which are yet to be in the clutches of the novel coronavirus. This is without a doubt a great initiative by the prime minister. However, this is a double edged sword as it would mean the gathering of workers and officials of the factories which goes against the social distancing rule.

It is imperative that the factories are brought to

life once again for the country’s economy to

survive and we welcome this step by the premier

Again, if the factories are not opened up then the economy would continue to suffer. It is imperative that the factories are brought to life once again for the country’s economy to survive and we welcome this step by the premier.

Also, if the workers are to start working their safety needs to be ensured by the authorities concerned. Proper protective equipment must be provided along with special arrangements for medical personnel who might be able to help in case the virus’ symptoms are found among workers.

On another note, already many businesses have temporarily shut down because of the supply chain disruption. If this situation continues, there is a risk that the businesses will have to pay huge losses.

Also, salaries to employees, rent and different bills as well as bank loans can also get halted because of this resulting in other areas connected with the economy to suffer other than businesses alone.
