A former union parishad member named Razzak Mallick (70) was hacked to death by miscreants in Narail.
The murder took place in Kamal Pratap village of Sadar upazila around 7pm on Monday (August 24). He is a former member of Bashgram Union Parishad of Narail Sadar.
Citing relatives of the deceased, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Narail Sadar Police Station Ilias Hossain said Razzak Mallik's wife went to fetch water from a tubewell next door on Monday evening. When she came home, she saw her husband's bloody body inside the house and shouted. He is thought to have been hacked to death with a sharp weapon.
The body of the deceased is being sent to the morgue of Narail Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Attempts are being made to find out who was involved in the killing.
