Former Moulvibazar MP Toabur Rahim died from Covid-19 at a hospital in London early on Friday.
Chairman of Rajnagar Upazila Parishad Shahjahan Khan confirmed the matter. Toabur Rahman was an elected MP from Rajnagar-Kamalganj constituency. He was born at Balisohosro village under Rajnagar upazila. He left behind his wife, six sons, a daughter, grandchildren and a host of relatives and well-wishers.
Toabur Rahim, an Awami League leader and organiser of the Liberation War, breathed his last at about 3:00 am at the hospital while undergoing treatment. He was hospitalized after being tested positive for the virus few days ago. Toabur was the member the first Bangladesh Parliament (Jatiya Sangsad) formed after the independence Bangladesh. He was over 100-year old.
