Former Director General of Islamic Foundation A. Z. M. Shamsul Alam passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital on Friday.
A. Z. M. Shamsul Alam served as the Director General of Islamic Foundation for two terms from 1979-1982 and 2003-2005.
His Namaj-e Janaza was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zuhr prayers on Saturday.
Shamsul Alam was a prominent Islamic thinker and one of the founders of Al-Arafah Islami Bank.
