A woman named Jinnat Ara (68), wife of late Gias Uddin the former Councilor of ward 4 of Kishoreganj municipal area, held a press conference to protect her property.
She held the press conference at a clinic in Ekrampur area of the district town around 11:30 am on Monday (28 September). Afrin Sultana Afia, daughter-in-law of JinnatAra, read out a written statement at the press conference.
She said that after the death of Jinnat Ara's eldest son Sohag, his younger son Sujan was doing business by constructing Sohag Tower in Kishoreganj Puranthana. But unfortunately Sujan also died. Within 3 days of his death, Jinnat's only eldest daughter Nazma and her husband Aminul Islam Ashfaq asked her to give them everything. He even threatened to kill her by locking her in the house and hanging her outside. The police came and rescued her.
Later, Jinnat Ara requested the locals to explain the heirs of her daughter. After this incident, all the documents kept in Sujan's business were broken and taken away. Now she is very afraid of Ashfaq her son-in-law.
Accused Aminul Islam Ashfaq claimed that the allegations against him were false and baseless and said that this propaganda were to humiliate him. If he had any faults, he would rectify it.
Kishoreganj Model Police Station OC Abu Bakar Siddique said police did not find Jinnat Ara and her family members detained. And the issue is related to family inheritance. The police have advised to go to the court to address these issues.
