Forgery Allegation: CAAB Member (Admin) Files Case Over Fake Agreement

S. M. Lablur Rahman, Member (Administration) of the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (CAAB) and an Additional Secretary to the Government, has filed a case alleging that his signature was forged to create fabricated documents, including a purported agreement and a consent letter.

The case was lodged with Airport Police Station on Monday after Rahman became aware of the alleged documents circulating in his name.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamrul Hasan Talukdar confirmed that the case had been formally recorded.

According to the complaint, an alleged agreement was prepared by identifying Rahman as the first party and Fahad Hossain as the second party. The document reportedly contained a forged signature of Rahman and stated that financial benefits would be provided to Hossain if Rahman were appointed Chairman of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC).

The complaint further alleges that a separate consent letter was also fabricated using Rahman’s name and forged signature.

Rahman described the documents as entirely false and baseless, saying they had been created without his knowledge or involvement.

“My signature has been forged to prepare fabricated documents. I have never been involved in any such arrangement, nor would I engage in such unethical conduct,” he said.

He further claimed that the incident was part of an organized effort to undermine his professional standing and public image.

Seeking legal redress, Rahman urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation and identify those responsible for the alleged forgery.

Police officials said the matter would be investigated in accordance with the law and necessary action would be taken based on the findings.
