Foreigner ‘commits suicide’ at Gulshan

Dhaka Metropolitan Police recovered the hanging body of a Philippine national from a flat in Gulshan area in the capital on Sunday night.

DMP sources said after receiving a phone call through national emergency helpline 999, police recovered the body of the foreigner.

Deceased was identified as ElinoChenaiIvly, 65. He was working as a manager of Cosco Engineering and Construction Company at Matarbari Power Plant Project.

According to the press release, sent by 999 media cell, police received a phone call at the emergency helpline service on Sunday night. The caller informed that a man was spotted hanging from the window of washroom in a flat of house No. 8 on road No. 125 in Gulshan-1.

Later, the national emergency helpline 999 contacted Gulshan Police Station and sought an intervention in this regard.

Being informed, a team from the Gulshan police station went there, recovered the body and sent it to a hospital morgue.  

Sub-inspector Nazrul of Gulshan Police Station said they suspected that he might have committed suicide by hanging himself.
