The Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized illegal foreign liquor worth approximately Tk 4 million in Chattogram's Patenga area on Saturday.

Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque stated on Sunday that, acting on a tip-off, the Coast Guard vessel Apurbo Bangla conducted a special operation near Patenga Sea Beach.

During the raid, a total of 60 bottles of VAT 69 whisky, 48 bottles of Ballantine's, and 36 bottles of Red Label whisky were recovered in an abandoned state. The smugglers fled the scene upon sensing the presence of law enforcement, and no arrests were made.

Legal proceedings regarding the seized liquor are currently underway. The Coast Guard affirmed that such operations will continue to ensure national security and law and order.
