Rupganj Correspondent: Members of RAB (Rapid Action Battalion) recovered 208 bottles of foreign liquor from a private vehicle during a raid on Wednesday night at Fozur Bari Mor area in Rupganj, Narayanganj. The vehicle used for transporting the contraband was also seized.
On Thursday night, the seized liquor and the car were handed over to Rupganj Police Station. The matter was confirmed by Officer-in-Charge Tarikul Islam.
According to the RAB-filed case, acting on a tip-off, a team from RAB-1 conducted an operation on the Demra-Kaliganj road near Fozur Bari Mor. When a private car raised suspicion, RAB signalled it to stop. The driver and another occupant abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene.
Upon searching the car, RAB recovered 208 bottles of liquor from various foreign brands, estimated to be worth around Tk 2.5 million. The vehicle was confiscated for being used in illegal drug transportation.
A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Rupganj Police Station, naming two individuals as accused. The investigation is currently underway.
