Dengue fever is a viral flu which is spread by the bite of an Aedes mosquito. The dengue hemorrhagic fever is widely known as 'break bone fever' as it accompanies with severe joint pains which makes the condition even worse. With increasing dengue casualties in recent times, it is very important to take effective preventive measures for the same, report agencies. The below-mentioned food items, when consumed regularly, can help you recover from the deadly disease that is caused by the bite of an Aedes mosquito.

Vegetable juice

Fresh vegetable juice of carrot, cucumber and other green leafy vegetables is rich in essential nutrients that help in speedy recovery of the dengue patient.

Papaya leaves

It is universally known that papaya leaves are the best food for dengue patients. All we need to do is, take two fresh papaya leaves, crush and squeeze them to extract the juice. It is suggested to consume two tablespoons of this juice every day either in the morning or at night.

Lemon juice

Lemon juice is effective in controlling the dengue virus, as consuming the fresh juice reduces its load in the body. It is good for the patient’s taste palate too, as he/she is prohibited to consume oily & spicy foods.

Coconut water

It is recommended to drink two glasses of coconut water daily, as it replenishes all the minerals and electrolytes, lost by the body due to dehydration.

Orange juice

It has been proven that citrus fruits are good for dengue patients. The orange juice is packed with energy and vitamins that is good for digestion, increases the urinary output, and thus promotes faster recovery.

Herbal tea

Herbal tea made from ginger, cinnamon and cardamom is effective for people suffering from dengue fever, as it reduces the fever and also gives inner strength to the weak bones.
