Food warehouse officer’s body recovered in Madaripur

Police have recovered the body of Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Kamrul Islam from his office in Madaripur. His body was recovered from the Charmugaria food warehouse in Nayachar area of Sadar upazila around 9:30 am on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Kamrul, 40, son of Nurul Islam Khalashi of Khalashipara village in Kodalpur union of Gosairhat upazila of Shariatpur district.

Police and locals said that in the morning, the staff of the office informed the police when they saw the body of the officer-in-charge Mohammad Kamrul Islam hanging in front of the bathroom inside the Charmugaria food warehouse office. After the police prepared the inquest report, the body was sent to the morgue of District Sadar Hospital for autopsy. Police are investigating whether it was murder or suicide. Later the organization was sealed by the Sadar Upazila Administration. According to family sources, Kamrul had two wives. Everyone has a daughter. Besides, some evidence has been collected from the spot. Necessary steps will be taken after receiving the autopsy report.

Madaripur Sadar Upazila Executive Officer. Main Uddin said that after the incident, 6 warehouses will be sealed as there is no one in charge of the company. All activities of the organization will remain closed till the next officer is appointed.

Madaripur District Food Officer Mohammad Islam Hossain said Kamrul had been mentally disturbed since joining the office. The cause of his death needs to be thoroughly investigated.

Mohammad Kamrul Islam joined as the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Charmugaria Food Warehouse in Madaripur Sadar Upazila. Later, he was worried about various family problems and office problems.

Madaripur Additional Superintendent of Police Chailau Marma said they were investigating whether there were any family problems or office problems.
