Chuadanga District Administration started distribution government sanctioned food items and District Police gave food items in personal initiative on March 29 among home stayed workers over coronavirus epidemic.
Khayrul Anam, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer, said a total of 180 metric tons of rice and cash Tk. 580000 have been sanctioned for the home stayed workers in the district. Of the total 70 metric tons of rice and cash tk. 210000 have been sanctioned for the workers in Alamdanga upazila, 30 metric tons of rice and cash tk. 110000 in Damurhuda upazila, 50 metric tons of rice and cash tk. 150000 in sadar upazila and 30 metric tons of rice and cash tk. 110000 for the workers of Jibannagar upazila.
Food items including rice, potatoes, soabyn oil and soaps in a packet will be distributed gradually among 440 people in four uapazilas of the district, Nazrul Islam Sarker, DC said.
On the other hand Jahidul Islam, Superintendent of Police distributed food items in his own initiatives among 500 home stayed poor workers in five thanas of the district.
