FM seeks cooperation to enrich Bangladesh's foreign policy

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has sought cooperation of all to enrich the foreign policy of Bangladesh to face the challenges of the future.

He made the call at a discussion meeting with the foreign affairs experts at the Foreign Service Academy in Dhaka on Monday on the possible outline of making foreign policy more mature and up-to-date, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday.

He requested all to highlight the challenges and opportunities of Bangladesh for graduating from a least developed country to a developing country.

Those who were present at the meeting expressed their views of making arrangements for massive publicity of Bangladesh's success in the national and international media.

They praised the government for successfully holding the 10-day events celebrating the golden jubilee of independence and Bangabandhu's birth centenary from March 17 to March 26.

Habibe Millat MP, Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, International Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Shammi Ahmed, Member of Awami League Advisory Council Inam Ahmed Chowdhury, former foreign secretaries Shamser Mubin Chowdhury and Touhid Hossain, analysts Major General (retd) Moniruzzaman, Brigadier General (retd) M Shakhawat Hossain, Air Commodore (retd) Ishfaq Elahi Chowdhury and Major (retd) Emdadul Islam, former diplomats Waliur Rahman and Mohiuddin Ahmed, prominent international relations experts and academician Prof Abdul Mannan, Prof Begum Amena Mohsin, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmed, Dr. Delwar Hossain, Prof Shahab Enam Khan, Prof Lailufar Yasmin, Dr. Pranab Kumar Pandey and journalist Altaf Parvez were present, among others.
