FM’s New Year resolution

As the nation is welcoming the New Year wishing happiness and prosperity of all, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has a different resolution. He wants to give better services to the expatriates Bangladeshis. He wrote a letter to all Bangladesh missions abroad and asked them to be ‘more expatriates friendly’, the foreign ministry said. He also assured them of all types of support for enhancing the services of the missions.

Continuing 24-hour hotline, embassy apps, setting up complaint box and CCTV at airports are some of the steps the foreign ministry had taken to strengthen the services of the expatriates by stopping harassment. Dr Momen in the letter told all the mission heads that the expatriates concerns should be addressed ‘quickly’.

He also encouraged expatriates to send money through legal channel to get the 2 percent incentives offered by the government. He also asked them to explore scopes of developing skills of Bangladeshi works with the help of the host countries.
