The UK government has arranged four chartered flights of British Airways starting April 21 to take back its nationals stranded due to coronavirus lockdown.

“The first flight will run on Tuesday the 21st of April, and there will be flights on the 23rd, the 25th, and the 26th of April,” British High Commissioner in Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson told in a video message on Saturday.

He said the High Commission would also arrange shuttle to take British visitors from Sylhet to Dhaka to board onward flights to the UK.
Most of the Bangladeshis live in Britain are from the northeastern Sylhet district.

They have to pay the costs.
“We have worked very hard to keep the cost of these flights as low as we can. The price per head will be o600 whether you’re starting in Dhaka or Sylhet,” Dickson said.

Only British citizens and permanent residents can avail these flights and they can book their tickets through Corporate Travel Management (CTM).
All have been requested to carry hard copies of flight confirmation and passports while travelling to Dhaka or Sylhet Airport, a travel advice issued by the High Commission in Dhaka said.

Earlier, citizens of the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Bhutan and different European countries also left here by their personal choice through chartered flights amid outbreak of the deadly coronavirus.
