‘Fix reasonable ocean freight immediately’

SCB leaders demand at its board meeting

The leaders of Shippers Copuncil of Bangladesh in it’s meeting of the board of the Directors, on Tuesday expressed deep concern over the issue and demanded the concerned authorities to fix the ocean freight at a reasonable rate immediately.

The maiden meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors of the Shippers’ Council of Bangladesh (SCB) also adopted annual action plan of the council.

The meeting took place on Tuesday at the SCB’s office, Dhanmondi in the capital with the Md. Rezaul Karim, chairman of the council in the chair. 

The meeting also approved the accounts statement, new membership & nominated the signatories for the SCB Bank Accounts. 

SCB’s board directors also discussed about problems and remedies of trade & business at the current situation. It was also discussed that the traders are facing losses due to sudden increase in ocean freight of export goods by the ship owners. 

Senior Vice Chairman Md. Ariful Ahsan; Vice Chairman A. K. M. Aminul Mannan (Khokon) and Directors : Md. Munir Hossain; Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan; Syed Md. Bakhtiar;  Md. Nurussafa Babu; Ziaul Islam; Ganesh Chandra Saha & Ataur Rahman Khan also attended the Board meeting.
