Upazila Administration and Women Affairs Directorate jointly accorded a reception to Joyeetas marking the Begum Rokeya Day in Ishwardi Upazila on Saturday. Five women were accoded reception and given prizes at Upazila Parishad Conference Room on Saturday under ‘Bangladesh in Joyeeta search’ programme.
The five women are –successful mother Husneyara Khatun from Dasuria, Most Rohana Sabrin from Shershah Road for economic solvancy, Most Joshna Begum of Muladuli for social development, Rintu Khatun from Aminpara in the field of education and employment and Most Momtaz Begum of Shahapur for rebuilding life again as a woman.
Organisers have given them crests and certificates.
Subir Chandra Das, UNO was the chief guest in the discussion arranged to mark the day.
Most Naznin Akhter, Upazila Woman Affairs Officer presided over the meeting.
The speakers of the programmes were -T M Rahsin Kobir, Assistant Commissioner (land), Atia Ferdous Kakoli, Vice- Chairman, Mostak Ahmed Kiron, President, Ishwardi Press Club, Joyeetas Rihani Sabrina and Joshna Begum.
