Five foreign returnees in quarantine in Pabna

Five foreign returnees have been kept in home-quarantine in Pubna suspecting them to carry coronavirus. Of the foreign returnees, one is from China, three from Italy and one from South Korea. Their names and identities, however, were not disclosed. 

Neverthless, no person carrying coronavirus has so far been detected in Pabna. A 20-bed building at Pabna General Hospital has been kept ready to treat corona infected patients.  Moreover, for  treatment of such patients, a school of the town has been declared as isolation-center where 200 patients can be accommodated for treatment, informed the  officials of Health Department.

Dr. Mehedi Iqbal, Civil Surgeon of Pabna informed, the expatriates who will return to Bangladesh from seven countries have been advised to stay at their houses for at least two weeks. So far no patient carrying coronavirus has been detected in the district, he added.

He further mentioned, recently three people from Italy, one from China and one from South Korea have arrived at their village homes in Pabna. Their homes are in Ishurdi, Chatmohor and Atghoria upazilas. All are set to treat the suspected coronavirus infected patients in the district, he added.

He further said, there was nothing to be panicky with the coronavirus which is like a common disease but those who suffer from heart, kidney, lung ailment and the elderly people are mainly susceptible to this virus, he added.
