FitsAir launches Dhaka-Colombo flight

Sri Lanka-based airlines FitsAir launched direct flights from Dhaka to Colombo. Initially, FitsaAir flights will go to Colombo from Dhaka two days a week on Wednesday and Sunday. Flights from Colombo to Dhaka are on Tuesday and Saturday.

Air Vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman, Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority officially opened the Dhaka-Colombo direct flight of FitsAir at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport recently.

Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Bangladesh Dharmapala Weerakkodi, Barrister Mehnaz Mannan, Chairman of FitsAir Bangladesh GSA Bengal Airlift Limited, Chief Executive Officer Md. Bahauddin Mia, Director Faikanaser, Chief Operating Officer Sumayez Iqbal and Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lankan High Commission in Dhaka Ruan Thidel Pitiya were present at this time.

It is to be noted that FitsAir applied to the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority (BABCHAK) to operate the flight in 2023.

Chief Executive Officer of FitsAir GSA Bengal Airlift Limited. Bahauddin Mia said that the minimum fare for FitsAir Dhaka-Colombo return ticket is around 32 thousand taka. Passengers will get 30 kg check in baggage and 7 kg hand baggage allowance. FitsAir operates flights on this route with Airbus A-320 aircraft.
