Thousands of fishing trawlers in the middle of the sea to catch hilsa are returning to safe shelters as the Bay of Bengal is getting rough.
Trawlers owners count colossal losses as the trawlers return to the shore for the fourth time in a row this month.
According to information received from the Met Office, A low-pressure area has formed over Northeast Bay and adjoining area.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Center of the low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh.
As a result, thousands of fishermen have been returning with trawlers to Meherali and vedakhal area in Bagerhat since Thursday.
Coastal fishermen are not getting any relief from hunting hilsa in the sea after the blockade.
They have to return after four days due to repeated bad
weather.
So everyone concerned is disappointed not to get the desired fish.
Central Vice President of Bangladesh Trawler Owners Association M Saiful Khokon said that the weather becomes rough in the sea.
Local fishermen and trawler owners count huge losses as they can’t catch expected fish from the bay for the bad weather.
Local fisherman Sohel Nazir said that many people could not see the fish as the weather got worse after going down to the sea.
Sharankhola Fishing Trawler Owners Association president Abul Hossin said that the local fishermen cannot pay even their debt as they couldn’t earn from catching fished from the bay.
East Sundarbans Sharankhola range official (ACF) Sheikh Mahbub Hasan said that they asked officials to facilitate fishermen to ensure safe shelters in different canals of the Sundarbans.
