Fisheries and Livestock sector sees huge progress

Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given great importance to the development of the fisheries and livestock sector. Under her far-sighted leadership, unprecedented progress has been made in this sector. The scope of fisheries and livestock sector has increased more than any time in the past. This progress under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina cannot be questioned in any way.”

The minister made the remarks while talking to leaders of Bangabandhu Veterinary Council at the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry office in the capital on Sunday.

He further said, “Under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the government has stood by the farmers affected by the Corona. Cash incentives have been given to farmers in the fisheries and livestock sector. In addition, low interest loans were provided under the Materials Assistance and Incentive Package.

In the Corona crisis, milk, eggs, fish and meat produced by the farmers have been collected and sold on mobile and online. As a result of taking these activities, the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is getting special importance considering the scope of work and performance in the country and abroad. We are trying our best to take the fisheries and livestock sector forward through this ministry. 

If anyone wants to disrupt it, strict measures will be taken. ”

Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Raunak Mahmud, former Vice-Chancellor of Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Prof. Abu Saleh M Bari, Professor of Bangladesh Agricultural University. Md. Siddiqur Rahman, President of Bangabandhu Veterinary Council Imran Hossain Khan, senior vice president Khandaker Md Helal Uddin, vice president Md. Anisur Rahman and secretary general Md Azizul Islam were present at the discussion.
