Fish worth Tk. 25 lakh killed by gas-poisoning in Nandigram

Miscreants at Nandigram upazila under Bogura district have killed fishes of two ponds worth about Taka 25 lakh by using poisonous gas tablets. The incident occured in Parshun village of the upazila on Sunday night.

Local people informed, fisherman Helal Uddin was raising fish in two of his ponds covering 20-bighas of areas in Parshun village for a long time. On Sunday night, unidentified miscreants had added poisonous gas tablets in his ponds as a sequel of previous enmity killing fish worth about Taka 25 lakh.

Abdul Matin, Chairman of Thalta Majgram Union confirmed the incident of killing the fishes of the ponds by applying gas tablets.

Shaokat Kabir, Officer-in-charge of Nandigram police station informed,  after receiving the complaint, he would take action accordingly after investigation
