Fish fries were released in Jhenaidah on the occasion of National Fisheries Week with the slogan 'Increase fish production, build a happy and prosperous country' on Thursday morning.
Jhenaidah Deputy Commissioner Saroj Kumar Nath inaugurated the program in Naboganga river at Dhopaghata Bridge area of the town.
Fishermen, upazila administration and fisheries officer were present at the time. On the occasion of this fisheries week from July 21 to July 26, 103 kg of fish fries including rui, katal, mrigel were released in the Naboganga river.
