Eighty kilograms of fish fries were released in Balai Beel under Baria union in Gazipur on Monday evening.
Meher Afroze Chumki, MP from Gazipur-5 constituency and former State Minister for Women and Children Affairs, realesed the fish fries as the chief guest.
At that time 240 Kgs of fish fries of different varites were also distributed among local people.
Meher Afoze Chumki said that there are many beels, ponds and hours in the country to product fishes. We should increase the production of fish, she added.
Syed Md Alamgir Husain, Deputy Director of Dhaka Division Fisheries department, Rina Parvin, Chairman of Gazipur Sadar Upazila Parishad, Mominul Haq, Gazipur district fisheries officer, Abdullah Al Jaki, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Jannatun Shahin, sadar upazila fisheries officer, were present at that time, among others.
