In today’s fast-paced and ever-changing corporate world, completion for job-seekers is growing at an extremely high rate. Under these circumstances, the youngsters willing to establish themselves as successful future professionals need to start focusing on acquiring professional skills, as academic education itself cannot guarantee a successful career any longer. For this reason, the importance of firsthand job experiences of new entrants is especially emphasized in all corporate job sectors across the world.

A number of renowned corporate organizations in our country have also started taking various initiatives for enabling students to acquaint themselves with the corporate world. ‘Banglalink Ennovators’, a digital ideation competition, is one such initiative that was launched back in 2017 by Banglalink. Along with giving university students an opportunity to get corporate experiences, it can ensure their entrance to Banglalink as professionals.

Following the primary selection process, ‘Banglalink Ennovators’ help the participants enhance their skills through grooming, boot camp sessions, workshops and other similar activities. At every stage of the competition, the participants have to prove their worth showcasing their abilities. The winning team gets the opportunity to visit the headquarters of Banglalink’s parent company Veon in Amsterdam, and join the Assessment Centre of Banglalink’s ‘Strategic Assistant Program’. The first and second runners-up are also given the opportunity to join this program, which can enable them to begin their careers at Banglalink later.

When asked about ‘Banglalnk Ennovators’, Monzula Morshed, Chief Human Resources and Administration Officer, Banglalink replied, “We have taken this initiative with a view to motivating talented youngsters and enhancing their professional skills. It will enable them to get firsthand job experiences in a world-class corporate environment. Such experiences will definitely play an important role in making them more skilled and confident.”

Rafid Ur Rab is one of the Banglalink professionals who started their careers at the organization through ‘Banglalink ennovators’ and ‘Strategic Assistant Program’. He participated in ‘Banglalink ennovators’ while studying as a student of third year at IBA, Dhaka University. After completing all the phases of the competition successfully, he finally started his career as a professional at Banglalink. Rafid said, “In our country, most university students do not have any clear idea about job sectors. But in order to get prepared for the upcoming professional challenges, they need to have firsthand professional experiences in their student-life. The competitions like ‘Banglalink ennovators’ can help them get such valuable experiences.”

Participating in the second edition of this completion Asif Imrul, a student of BUET, got the opportunity to visit Veon’s HQ in Amsterdam. About this opportunity he said, “I did not even imagine that such a big opportunity could come to me at this stage of my life. The visit to such a globally renowned organization will surely boost up my confidence and help me improve my skills. I want to utilize the experiences in my professional life.”

The third edition of ‘Banglalink ennovators’ is going to start next month. In order to participate in the competition, interested candidates have to get registered on this website (ennovators.banglalink.net) after its official launch.
