It is heartening to learn that work on the country’s mega projects is now gaining momentum following a lull since February for the coronavirus outbreak. It ushers in optimism about begetting positive changes in people’s livelihood and boosting the country’s economic growth. The Padma Multipurpose Bridge will change the economic status and lifestyle of the people on both sides.

This speedy continuation of construction speed has been attributed to foreign workers pitching in once again. It is appreciable that the government has given top priority to implementing mega projects, which will change the economic horizon of the country within the next couple of years.

This sense of accomplishment

for the government is mutually

shared amongst countrymen

Other mega projects including Metro rail, Rooppur nuclear power plant, Matarbari 1,200MW coal power plant, Padma rail link project, Dohazari-Ramu-Gundum rail track and Rampal Power Plant are also going ahead smoothly. This sense of accomplishment for the government is mutually shared amongst countrymen as it will bolster communication among regions of the country to a great extent.

Not only this, the report also shed light on the probability of failing schedule for the projects because of the coronavirus outbreak. However, it augurs well to know that workers are giving their all to implement the projects within he stipulated time.

Above all, we emphasise on timely and proper implementation of the projects and look forward to more development works important for attaining sustainability in the country in future.

It needs no mentioning that during the post Covid time, officials and workers including foreign consultants will have to work double time to make up for the losses that occurred during the last 8 months. Unless it is done projects will not be completed within the stipulated time and the cost will also go up unnecessarily.
