First Division Cricket League held at Cox’s Bazar

Kalatali Cricket Club win title

Kalatali Cricket Club has clinched the title of the first division cricket league organized by Cox's Bazar District Sports Association. In the unannounced final held at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, Kalatli defeated BadrMokam Cricket Club by four wickets to win the title and advance to the Premier League. 

The National Cox Sports Association has entered the Premier League as the second team to be runner-up. Fourteen district teams took part in the month-long cricket league.

Meanwhile, in the match held at the practice ground of Sheikh Kamal Stadium, BadrMokam was the first to bat and was all out for 189 runs in 48 overs in 50 overs. Batting in reply, Kalatali relied on the runs of Wahid (7) and Afif (28) to collect the required runs in 48.4 overs to win by 4 wickets.

On the other hand, in the match held at the match venue of the stadium at the same time, the National Cox got into a big disaster by batting first. Who lost by only 32 runs in the top four. After that, Juayed came to the crease and scattered four and six sparks and scored an impeccable century of 128 runs. The team got a fighting record of 244 runs.

Chakaria Muktijoddha went down to bat in reply and was all out for 198 runs in 48 overs. National Cox won the match by a big margin of 56 runs.

Meanwhile, the last prize-giving ceremony of the match was held under the chairmanship of Cricket League Committee convener and Additional Deputy Commissioner ZahidIqbal. Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamunur Rashid was the chief guest. Special guests were district Awami League vice-president RezaulKarim and Cox's Bazar press club president Abu TaherChowdhury. At the end of the match, the guests distributed trophies and cash among the champion and runner-up teams. Junaid of National Cox was also named Man of the League and Kamal of Kalatli was named the best  wicket taker.
