Law Minister Anisul Huq on Thursday inaugurated District and Session Judge Court of Char Fashion Upazila, taking the judicial system to the doorstep of the people of remote area. It’s the first district and session judge court established by the government at upazila level to facilitate people getting judicial service from their doorsteps, officials said, reports BSS.
Addressing a function at Brojogopal Town Hall on the occasion the minister said no one will be left out from the ongoing development as wheels of economic growth is moving forward under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “The wheels of development are moving on and it will continue and everybody would enjoy the benefit of the development,” he said.
Pointing out the country’s socioeconomic progress, Anisul Huq said Sheikh Hasina has constructed the Padma Multipurpose Bridge, introduced Bangladesh as an atomic energy country and made the country a role model of development. About the legal procedure against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia the minister said judicial court lent her to jail for five years for eating up orphans’ money. The Appellate Division extended the term to ten years. Here, the government has nothing to do as the law is taking its own course.
Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Youth and Sports Abdullah Al Islam Jakob attended the function as special guest. Jakob thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for establishing the District and Session Judge Court in Char Fashion saying it will lessen the sufferings of the people saving about Taka 24 crore annually.
Senior District and Session Judge Ferdous Ahmed chaired the function that was addressed, among others, by law secretary Abu Saleh Sheikh Md. Zahirul Haque, Upazila chairman Zoinal Abedin Akhon, Monpura Upazila chairman Selina Akter and general secretary of district bar Mozammel Haque. Earlier the law minister inaugurated the district judge court and office of the Charfashion Bar Association.
