First coal ship to arrive at Payra Port today

MV XIN HAI TONG-8, a coal loaded ship will arrive at the Payra Port today. The Hong Kong based vessel, will fetch almost 20000 tonnes from Indonesia. Deputy director (Transport) of Payra Port Azizur Rahman confirmed this to media on Wednesday. The coal will be used in the in the coal based power plant BCPCL situated at Patuakhali to generate electricity. Gradually, more coal vessels will arrive as per schedule.

Besides, the port is also facilitating to arrive other goods loaded vessels. First terminal construction work is also progressing fast under government financing at the port. Under the Korean consultancy farm, construction work of jetty, terminal, connecting road and bridge over Andharmanik River is also continuing. Apart of these, construction of coal terminal under Public-Private Partnership is about to get final approval. After all these construction and river dredging work, by 2020, Payra Port will be introduced as a third complete port of the country.
