Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has recovered a US-made pistol, a magazine, and three rounds of ammunition in an early morning operation in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga on Thursday.
The items were found abandoned near the brick kiln of Md. Jaka Molla in Goalpra village.
In a press release, Assistant Director of BGB Maheshpur-58 Battalion, Munshi Imdadur Rahman, confirmed the seizure.
Acting on a tip-off, a special patrol team from the Noyanpara BOP conducted a raid approximately 3km inside Bangladesh territory from the Goalpra border (between main pillar 64 and sub-pillar 4).
The firearm and ammunition were recovered without any arrests.
Legal procedures are underway to hand over the recovered items to Jibannagar Police Station.
