Training in fire prevention, extinguishing and rescue has started at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). On the first day of the training, a team from Sylhet's fire service and civil defense trained about hundred workers of SUST at the handball ground of the university on Monday.

Earlier, University Vice-Chancellor Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed inaugurated the fire prevention, extinguishing and rescue training program. Meanwhile, the Vice-Chancellor said that many buildings are being constructed in our university. Our security personnel or those concerned do not know how to carry out rescue operations immediately if they catch fire from electricity or other sources. Couldn't confirm training on that. The awareness that will be created in us today. It will continue.

It will be transmitted between us. We will use fire extinguishers according to the rules and regulations.

Deputy Director of Sylhet Fire Service and Civil Defense Branch Moniruzzaman said, if there is a fire, then an extinguishing and rescue team comes. But if we can resist then the question of extinction will never arise. The prevention thing is that there are many fire extinguishers hanging in the university. Hanging means extinguishing a fire. But if you are aware, there is no possibility of fire. And that is resistance. Besides, today we will get to know various firefighting and rescue techniques. Fire Service and Civil Defense Inspectors Atiqur Rahman and Mostafizur Rahman demonstrated various techniques of extinguishing and rescue.

On this training University Treasurer Professor Anwarul Islam, Student Counseling and Guidance Director Professor Amina Parveen, Registrar Muhammad Ishfaqul Hessen, Deans of various faculties, departmental officers and employees were present at the inauguration of the training. The members of the university unit of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) were in overall support of the training.
