Fire of 120 megawatte Power house at Kumargaon area of Sylhet is now under control. Four units of Fire Service succeed in douzing the fire after an one hour 45 minutes of efforts at 12.45 pm, informed Mokammel Hossain, Chief Engineer of Sylhet Electric Supply division.
It is learnt the fire engulfed the power house around 11-30 am on Tuesday (17 November).
Mokammel Hossain further informed, fire service personnel were trying to cool the machineries. Two 33 KVA transformers of the power house have been burnt in the fire.
Entire Sylhet division remains without electricity after the incident of fire at the power house. It is not yet clear about the cause of origin of the fire.
