At least three people were burned to death and several others injured as a devastating fire broke out at a footwear factory in Ashulia of Savar Wednesday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Muhammad Johirul Islam, Senior Station Officer of DEPZ fire service said that they were informed about the fire at around 5:15pm.

“On information the firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire in an effort of one and half hours. “A total of 8 firefighters units from DEPZ, Savar and Uttara stations joined the operation”, he said.
He further said they have yet to confirm the amount of loss. Moreover, initially, none of the fire officials could say anything about the cause of fire till filing this report.
Bangladesh Post could not reach Abdul Alim, Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service, Zone-04, despite making multiple phone calls for his comment.
