Although coronavirus originated in China, it has more or less spread throughout the world. The virus has now entered Bangladesh as well. Three people were recently identified as having coronavirus in Bangladesh.

After that, panic spread throughout the country. It has even impacted the cinema world as well. As a result, it has led to uncertainty regarding the release of new films. While there was talk of new movies being released, some producers are now backtracking from releasing movie in this situation. Shamsul Alam, general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Producers-Distributors Association revealed this information.

'Unoponchash Batash' was scheduled for release next Friday, March 13th. However, the release of the film has been postponed. Producer Masud Hasan has already canceled the release of the movie. He said this from his personal Facebook account.

Recently, Dipjol-Moushumi starrer 'Shoubhagyo' got a certificate from the censor board. The film is directed by FI Manik. The director of the film said that the film could not be released due to the coronavirus panic even though permission was received from the censor board.

‘Shoshurbari Zindabad 2’ was set to be released on March 20th. Debashish Biswas directed the film which stars the pairing of Bappi and Apu Biswas for the first time. However, the director said the coronavirus epidemic will delay the release of the film.

Director Debashish Biswas said, “We are working on the release of the film on March 20th. Movie trailers are being aired in cinema halls. If the corona epidemic is contained and the situation condition is normal, then the film will be released. Otherwise the release will be indefinitely postponed.’

Meanwhile, the film ‘Bandhob’ directed by Sujan Barua was also unofficially announced to be released on March 20th. Anup Kumar Barua, the owner of production company Anupam Kothachitro, has also indicated that the film will not be released on the due date.

Shamsul Alam, general secretary of the Bangladesh Film Producers-Distributors Association, said, "The audience numbers have fallen since Monday due to the outbreak of coronavirus in Bangladesh. Because of this, the release of new films at the cinema has become almost uncertain.’

He added, “Those who have already registered for the release of the films, are backing out now. Many are appealing to us to delay the release.”

However, on March 27th, the first movie directed by Chayanika Chowdhury 'Bishwoshundori' is set to be released. Porimoni and Siam will portray the lead characters. There is still a possibility to delay the film’s release if the coronavirus becomes an epidemic in the country.
