The newly elected committee of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association BFAA has paid homage to the martyrs of the great language movement.

On the occasion of International Mother Language Day, flowers were laid at the Shaheed Minar of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) on Monday February 21 at 10:50 am. Most of the winners of Kanchan-Nipun panel took part in it. None of the Misha-Zayed panel was there.

Ilias Kanchan, president of the association, actor Ferdous, Anjana, Nipun, Amit Hasan, Emon, Keya, Jasmine Akhter, Nader Khan, Azad Khan, Nana Shah and other members of the association were present.

President Ilias Kanchan said that everyone came to FDC in the morning to pay homage to the great heroes of the language.  On the other hand, all the winners of the Misha-Zayed panel were informed but most of them did not participate.

Incidentally, there is a public quarrel between Kanchan-Nipun and Misha-Zayed Panel over the post of general secretary of the association. Zayed Khan was declared the winner in the biennial election of filmmakers on January 28. The Appellate Board then rejected his candidature and declared Nipun the winner of the same post. So they approached the court with the post and the hearing will take place today February 22.
