Freedom fighters of Bangladesh and India share their experiences of 1971 ahead of the Moitree Dibosh to be celebrated on Monday jointly by the two countries.

In recognition of Moitree Dibosh, each year, both India and Bangladesh commemorate the invaluable contribution of valiant freedom fighters in the journey towards the Liberation of Bangladesh.

This year too, in the run of Moitree Dibosh, a Moitree Week was celebrated from 30 November to 5 December.

As part of the Moitree week celebration, an event reminiscing about the road to Liberation in 1971 and events leading to Victory Day was organised at IGCC at which valiant freedom fighters shared their invaluable experiences of Bangladesh’s Liberation War and recounted important events which culminated in the Victory Day.

The Moitree Dibosh will be celebrated jointly by the two governments on Monday in 18 cities apart from Dhaka and New Delhi.

India recognised Bangladesh on December 6 in 1971 when the liberation war was going on. The final victory against Pakistan came on December 16.
