The mystery behind the sensational murder of Mustafizur Rahman Selim, a valiant Freedom Fighter and General Secretary of Paksey union Awami League of Ishwardi upazila under Pabna district, has not been unveiled even two-year after the murder.
It has not even identified who was behind the murder. Mustafizur Rahman Selim was known as ‘Selim Leader’ and as a ‘Protesting Voice’, in the area.
Tanvir Rahman Tonmoy son of assassinated Mustafizur Rahman has expressed his grave concern and anger over the failure to identify the killers and to arrest them even after two-year of the incident. He demanded to find out the killers immediately and their exemplary punishment.
It is learnt, around 9-00 pm of February-6, 2019, Freedom Fighter Mustafizur Rahman Selim had been returning his Char Rooppur house in a motorbike from BBC bazaar in Paksey.
As soon as he arrived near his house, assailants poured several rounds of bullets on him injuring him fatally. Hearing his piercing cry, local people rushed to the spot and took him to Ishwardi Health Complex through a CNG. On-duty doctors found two bullet wounds on his abdomen and on the back.
He was advised to admit to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital but he died on the way to Rajshahi around 10-30 pm due to profound bleeding.
Police visited the spot of murder the same night and recovered three bullet shells from in front of the house of Mustafizur Rahman. The next day (7 Feb.) night, son of the victim Tanvir RahmanTonmoy filed a murder case accusing unidentified assailants with Ishwardi Police station in this connection.
Police arrested four suspected killers including Rocky Biswas son of Pakey Union Parishad Chairman Enamul Haque Biswas, his nephew Arju Biswar, Rajib and Likhon. Later, those arrested persons were granted bail from the court.
Ishwardi Police station sources informed PBI has been investigating into the incident of murder of FF Mustafizur Rahman Selim. However, PBI has not yet been able to find out who is involved with the incident of murder.
