Police have recovered the body of a fetus from a pond at Naldanga upazila in Natore on Monday morning. The body of the 4-5 month old fetus was recovered from a pond at Madhnagar College in the upazila.
Police said, seeing the body of a fetus floating in a pond at Madhanagar College in the upazila locals informed the police. Upon receiving the news, the police went to the spot and recovered the body of the unidentified fetus.
Nazrul Islam, officer-in-charge of Naldanga police station, said it was the fetus of an immature baby. The baby may be approximately 6 months old. It cannot be said without confirmation whether the fetus is the result of an illegal abortion. The matter is being investigated.
