Ferry movement snapped on Shimulia-Kanthalbari riverine route

Movement of ferries through Shimulia-Kanthalbari river route remain suspended after a four hour of normal communication. Five ferries moved on the route from 6-00 am to 10-00 am, afterwards movement of ferries kept suspended. 

During this period, ferries Kishori and Kakoli carrying vehicles departed from Shimuliaghat of Louhajang towards Faridpur.

Ahmed Ali, Marine Manager of BIWTC, Shimuliaghat informed, five ferries start movement through 37-38 pillar areas of the Padma Bridge, But, the ferry services kept suspended again following a ban from the Padma Bridge Authority.

Bangladesh Inland Water Trasnport Coporation informed, Padma Bridge authority has prohibited to use their channels for ferry movement. The authority further mentioned, ferry authorities were not maintaining the water route apporved by the government. The movement of ferries stopped after 10-00 am. The ferries were moving beside pillar-38 of the Padma bridge.

Helal Uddin, In Charge of Maoa Traffic Police informed, there is no rush of vehicle for ferrying at the ghat area and no new vehicle is also arriving.
