Ferdous to perform in India again

Dhallywood actor Ferdous Ahmed and actress Apu Biswas went to India on Tuesday morning to perform at the film festival titled ‘Bangladesh Film Festival’ (BFF) today February 23 for the second time in Agartala, India. 

For the last two and a half years the five times National Award winner Ferdous Ahmed was not been able to go to India as in 2019 he took part in the campaign for Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Indian Home Ministry against him for campaigning on behalf of the Trinamool Congress and after that he was banned there.

As a result, Ferdous has not been able to set foot on India for the last two and a half years. Neighbouring states lifted the ban in November last year.

Ferdous is excited to go to India after a long time. Regarding the contest he said, "India is my second home". This is the first time I've been there since the ban was lifted. I can't say what it feels like '. Apart from Ferdous, Apu Biswas popular musician Momtaz Begum will also join there. The Information and Broadcasting Minister of Bangladesh Dr Hasan Mahmud, Information and Cultural Minister of Tripura Sushant Chowdhury, FDC’s Managing Director (MD) Nuzhat Yasmeen will be present as guests at the festival

It is to be noted that Ferdous could not act in the biopic of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman due to the ban imposed by India. He was cast as an important character in the historical movie. But he had to move because he did not get the permission.
