Female varsity student stabbed in Rajshahi

Police in Rajshahi arrested one young girl for stabbing and injuring a female student of Sher-e-Bangla Agriculture University with a sharp weapon at Tikapara area of the city on Saturday.

The victim student has been identified as Farzana Tasnim Simran, 20. She is a first-year student of the Agrobusiness Department of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University and daughter of late Altaf Hossain of Tikapara area under Boalia Police Station.

The arrested young girl has been identified as Jharna. She is a resident of Mirerchak area of Tikapara under Boalia police station of the city. 

Farida Yeasmin, mother of the victim student informed, Jharna came to their house on Saturday afternoon while Simran was coming out of her house by opening the lock of the door.

Suddenly, Jharna held the hair of Simran with her fist and hit her with the Boti at the left side of her chest. Simran raised an alarm when Jharna tried to escape by opening the door but local people chased and caught her red-handed. 

ASI Shariful Islam of Boalia thana in this connection said, a Boti and a sharp Chapati have been recovered by searching the vanity bag of Jharna.

He further said, Simran has been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital and now under treatment.
