The Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh (FFSB) will be celebrating its golden jubilee, along with sixty years of film society movement in Bangladesh, by organising a year-long event.
The federation will organise film festivals, national and international seminars, film appreciation workshops and others as part of its celebration event.
A 41-member national committee has been formed in this regard.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the seminar hall of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Tuesday.
Convener of the national committee filmmaker Morshedul Islam, Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh president Lailun Nahar Shemi, renowned filmmaker Moshiuddin Shaker and member secretary of the national committee and general secretary of Federation of Film Societies of Bangladesh Belayet Hossain Mamun were present at the press conference. The year-long celebration programme will be inaugurated at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on March 19.
Information and broadcasting minister Hasan Mahmud will be present as chief guest, renowned artist Mustafa Monowar will be present as special guest and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky will be present as guest of honour at the inaugural ceremony.
