FBCCI starts distributing health care, medical supplies for free

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) on Thursday started distributing free health care and medical supplies across the country.

The initiative was formally inaugurated on Thursday afternoon through the Zoom Conference. Commerce Minister TipuMunshiformally inaugurated the initiative joining the virtual inaugural session chief guest while Private Industry and Investment Adviser to Prime Minister, Salman F Rahman joined as special guest withFBCCI President Md. JasimUddinin the chair.

Chittagong Chamber President MahbubulAlam and all the chamber leaders of the country were present at the zoom conference. Speaking as the chief guest, Commerce Minister TipuMunshi MP thanked the traders for the initiative taken by the FBCCI to distribute health care and medical supplies during the Corona epidemic.

He urged the traders to extend their hand of cooperation in any crisis in the future as there is no alternative to masks to prevent corona. 

 Speaking as the special guest, Salman F Rahman, MP, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment, described the initiative of the FBCCI as timely and said that everyone should wear a mask and adhere to proper hygiene rules to deal with the corona wave.   He also informed that the Prime Minister has come up with a solution to the vaccine problem.

 FBCCI President Md. JasimUddin said, "Currently, the third wave of Covid-19 is going on in Bangladesh."  He thanked the Prime Minister for announcing an incentive of Tk 32,000 crore to keep the economic wheel in motion.

He called on the chambers and associations to get involved in the distribution of incentives to ensure that real small businesses get this incentive. 

Noting that 10 million masks, health care and medical supplies have been distributed to make people aware of the need, including businessmen, the president said the FBCCI was working to set up oxygen cylinders, high flow nasal canola and oxygen booths across the country.

MahbubulAlam, president of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said the FBCCI was leading the way in expanding trade and investment as well as addressing any important national crisis.

MahbubulAlam mentioned that the Chittagong Chamber would set up corona sample collection booths and distribute masks at different places including Chittagong Medical.
