With the latest reshuffle in the police administration, the era of DIG Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim, who was also a Supernumerary Additional Inspector General of Police, has been ended at the Police Headquarters.
DIG Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim among eight top officials of the Bangladesh Police were reshuffled on Sunday, a notification issued in this regard by the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
The notification signed by Deputy Secretary of the Public Security Department Abu Sayeed reds; DIG (Supernumerary Additional Inspector General of Police) of the Police Headquarters Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim has been made the Rector of the Police Staff College, DIG of the Armed Police Md. Nazrul Islam has been posted to the APBN Headquarters, DIG of Highway Police Salma Begum to the APBN (Hill Districts and Offices), and Superintendent of Police of Gaibandha Nishat Angela has been posted as the AIG at the Police Headquarters.
In addition, Faridpur District SP Md. Abdul Jalil has been posted to the Police Beureau of Investigation (PBI), Pabna SP Md. Mortaza Ali Khan has been posted to Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Nilphamari SP Abul Fazal Mohammad Tariq Hossain Khan has been posted to PBI.

Earlier on October 14, a report was published about some top ranking police officials, whose wives and close relatives are found to be involved in real estate business, a gross violation of the 'Code of Conduct for Government Officials and Employees'.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has taken the matter under its recognition and copies of the allegations have been forwarded to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) on September 4 this year.
The Directorate of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC) maintains all the documents related to the ownership of registered companies.
According to the RJSC information, the luxury housing company Premium Properties Limited was registered in 2010. As of July 14, this company was owned by 11 entrepreneurs and businessmen.
According to the RJSC list registration list, Kazi Md. Jahidul Karim is one of the owners of ‘Premium Properties’. He is a brother of Kazi Fazlul Karim, who is the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Admin at the Police Headquarters.
In addition, Kazi Fazlul Karim's wife Nuzhat Fatema is also involved with this luxurious real estate firm.
Fazlul Karim, since the beginning of his career, has reportedly been accused of misbehaving with the force under his command.
While serving as the Deputy Commissioner of the Discipline Branch of the DHaka Metropolitan Police, earlier during the period of 1/11 , he allegedly missbehaved with some of the policemen.
One of the victims also lodged a complain before a court against Fazlul Karim about the matter.
Later the court had reprimanded him and ordered to take departmental action against Fazlul Karim as the court found the allegations true. Following the incident, had been made OSD.
However, after the political changeover in the country politics through 'August 5' last year, Fazlul Karim joined the service by presenting the information that he was OSD for political reasons.
